Triptykon, the band led by former Hellhammer and Celtic Frost front man Thomas Gabriel Warrior (aka Thomas Gabriel Fischer, aka Tom G. Warrior), has just released the official video for the song “Aurorae.”

The song is the fifth track off the band’s epic album Melana Chasmata, which is currently my frontrunner for album of the year. For my full review of the album, click here.

The stylish clip, which is to be the first of two from the album, was shot in black and white and keeps with the ominous tone of the song. It was directed by Philipp Hirsch (who previously collaborated with Triptykon for the group’s highly acclaimed “Shatter” video clip). As it was the case with “Shatter”, the “Aurorae” clip is based on concepts by Hirsch and Tom G.

The “Aurorae” clip is to be followed later in 2014 by an EP of the same title, featuring additional unreleased music by the group and released through Century Media Records/Prowling Death Records. The end of the year will also see Triptykon embark on a major European tour with At The Gates.
