Josh Brolin made an appearance last week on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon to promote his new movie, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, and host Jimmy Fallon brought up the first film the actor was ever in — The Goonies, which celebrates its 30th anniversary next June. Brolin said he would participate in a sequel if it actually happens (there’s been many rumors about it over the years) and then he donned a red bandana like his character, Brand, wore in the 1985 Richard Donner film.

Back in April, director Richard Donner said that he was working on a sequel with original producer Steven Spielberg and wants the original cast to return for the new movie. Along with Brolin, the adventure-comedy also starred Sean Astin (that’s Samwell from LoTR), Corey Feldman (Lost Boys), Jonathan Ke Quan (Short Round from Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom), Jeff Cohen, Martha Plimpton, and Kerri Lee Green as “The Goonies” gang with Anne Ramsey (who passed away in 1988), Joe Pantoliano, Robert Davi, and John Matuszak (the late actor played Sloth) as the Fratelli family. No other details have been revealed about a sequel, except that they’ve been trying to get it off the ground for years and that Spielberg has a story and wants to do something for the 30th anniversary.
