Obscure Burial is a black metal band from Finland with old-school songwriting and production aesthetics, but they somehow still seem to sound modern and fresh. They have been gaining rapid momentum in the metal underground ever since their first demo release God’s Abomination.

The description of that release on their Bandcamp page is a pretty accurate assessment of the band and their sound:
With 17 minutes of pure filth, this Finnish horde creates raw fucking Satanic death metal that will have you punching Christians in the skull!
The band has just released a new demo titled Epiphany and it has the reviewers gushing. CVLT Nation says:
Obscure Burial’s latest is sure to bring a smile on the face of any retro metal fan within a kilometer radius, as this album absolutely destroys the way 80s thrashers Kreator caused a stir in the underground with their classic, Pleasure to Kill. Epiphany sounds like a soundtrack to a ghoul’s cemetery debauchery of dead bodies, with its searing riffs, guitar squeals and pulverizing drums. One listen to Epiphany will separate the aficionados from the iTunes metal fans looking for the real thing just for the sake of telling their friends.
I say check these guys out if you are a fan of old school or even new school black metal. They are well worth the while. And, while you’re there, buy their releases if you like them and help this great new band finance the full-length debut album that they deserve to have the opportunity to make.
I would like to give a shout out to Mr. Jerod Salomon for bringing this band to my attention.
