The Station Agent and Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is set to star in The Thicket, an adaptation of the crime thriller of the same name from author Joe Lansdale.
The movie is set in early 1900s East Texas and follows a young man who’s searching for his sister, who was kidnapped by a vicious killer. To help him in his search, he hires a crafty bounty hunter named Shorty (Dinklage), the “grave-digging alcoholic son of an ex-slave and a street-smart prostitute.”
The Thicket is being developed by Hollywood Gang Productions and Gianni Nunnari, who said of the announcement:
“That Joe Lansdale’s dark vision will be brought to life by the brilliantly talented Peter Dinklage starring as Shorty “” it is a dream of mine. This is the kind of original movie with edge and style that Hollywood Gang is hungry for; luckily we found all these things in The Thicket. We cannot wait to share this movie with audiences around the world.”
Nunnari, who has previously produced titles such as Se7en, From Dusk Till Dawn, The Departed, and 300, will produce alongside Dinklage, David Ginsberg, and Shannon Gaulding.
