Vin Diesel clearly knows how to use social media to engage his fans and market his films. One film that will probably be the hardest to do is Fast and Furious 7. Because that film saw the tragic loss of Paul Walker, director James Wan was tasked with completing the film that would honor both Walker and the franchise itself. Somehow he managed to complete production, and now we wait until April 2015 to see if he got the job done.
But until then, Diesel will continue to push the film through his official Facebook page. Today he released a pair of new images from the film, but also tells his fans that he has seen the trailer and says that it is “incredible.” Hit the jump to read his full description and to see the full images.
Here’s what the actor had to say following a screening of the trailer:
Universal came to visit, to show the trailer for FF7…
Speechless… yeah, it was that INCREDIBLE!
I must also say, that it was emotional and bittersweet… we all went above and beyond to make Pablo proud, but man, I wish he could see what we have created and just how far we have come.
Now it may sound like there is a little bias in it, but the Fast and Furious franchise has come a long way since Justin Lin held the reins for the last four films. But now that Wan is taking over, it should be interesting to see where this franchise goes from stealing cars and bank heists to what Wan describes the upcoming sequel as ’70s car pursuit nostalgia.
Also starring Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Ronda Rousey, Tony Jaa, Lucas Black, Djimon Hounsou, and Kurt Russell, Fast and Furious 7 opens in theaters on April 3, 2015.
