Much to the delight of metal fans everywhere, British thrash titans Sylosis has just announced the release date for their fourth album Dormant Heart. The announcement was accompanied by the debut of the official video for the album’s first single “Mercy.”
Watch the video here below.
In September of 2013, the members of Sylosis were involved in a very serious accident when the RV that they were traveling in slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer on the highway. Three members were hospitalized and the band was forced to cancel the rest of their North American tour in support of Trivium and Devildriver.
Sylosis has since acquired a new drummer in the form of Ali Richardson (formerly of Bleed From Within) and apparently made very productive use of their recovery time, writing and recording the new record. “Mercy” is exactly the sort of ferociously epic metal that we’ve come to expect from these Reading natives.
Dormant Heart will be available everywhere via Nuclear Blast Records on January 12, 2015, making it a prime candidate for the first great metal album of 2015. Expect a full review here at GoD as soon as we get hands on the full record.
