TV rules at this year’s New York Comic-Con with a number of trailers and premieres of various shows, one of which that was shown off was the first trailer for Playstation TV’s first original series, Powers. Watch it here below.
Powers, based on the comic series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, stars Sharlto Copley (The A-Team, District 9) as Detective Christian Walker, a former superhero turned homicide detective. He is partnered with Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward, recently of The Following), and they team up to investigate crimes that are related to people with powers (thus the title).
There isn’t a lot of actual super power action shown off in the trailer, but it does a good job of letting us know what Copley’s performance as Walker will be like. Heyward seems to be doing a good job channeling Pilgrim, and the rest of the cast, including Eddie Izzard, Michelle Forbes, and Noah Taylor, who all seem to be good fits for their parts.
To see Powers, you’re going to need a Playstation Plus account in addition to either a PS3, PS4, or the new Playstation TV, which comes out on October 14 for a price of $99.99. The series will premiere sometime in December 2014.
Check out the trailer below and let us know if you’re going to sign up for Playstation Plus in order to watch Powers.
