Box of Dread Ad

Every month I patiently await my happy little Box of Dread from Dread Central. The boxes, which are filled with all sorts of horror regalia, come delivered monthly to your door. In the past few months, I received DVDs, toys, stickers, posters, buttons, etc. Not every box will contain the exact same things (some do), but will have similar themes.

This month happens to be October, which for horror fans means Christmas has come early and Halloween is here. It also means to return to television for arguably horror’s most popular show, AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Continue reading for more on this month’s Box of Dread, and to see some images and unboxing videos.

Capitalizing on all things October, my latest “Dread Box” features a kick-ass Maggie Greene action figure from McFarlane Toys. Maggie (played by the beautiful Lauren Cohan) comes with signature Walking Dead weapons: an assault rifle, handgun, and knife. The figure is part of McFarlane’s series 5 figures, along with Tyreese (Chad L. Coleman), Glenn (Steven Yeun), Zombie Merle (Michael Rooker), and “Charred” Zombie.

The Dread Box then focuses on Halloween and tis the season to be jolly for horror maniacs. There are five awesome pumpkin carving sheets featuring Michael Myers from Halloween, Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters, and Sam from Trick ‘r Treat, all brought to you by House of the Zombie Pumpkins. My box also delivered The Halloween Experience: Volume One, where host, the voluptuous Bloody Jenny, takes you on a tour of six of the craziest haunts from all over in a 40-minute-long DVD. Two small pins and some stickers complete the package this month.

For only $14 a month (plus $6 shipping and handling) or $13 a month (plus $6 S&H) with a 3-month subscription, Box of Dread gives the horror-phile a once-a-month special delivery packed with fun that easily merits the price. Sign up now at Box of Dread or check out Dread Central and follow the links to Box of Dread. Box of Dread un-boxings are a community event for members, which you can see in the videos below along with some images of my October Dread Box.

Now excuse me while I go get a beer, and open it with my Cthulu bottle opener”¦ which I happened to get in a previous Box of Dread.
