My favorite jewelry company, RockLove Jewelry, has a devilishly delicious new line, that’s full of beautiful darkness. This weekend Brooklyn Geekfest returns to the Gregory Hotel in Bay Ridge for the second straight year. The “comic con-like” convention is presented by Gotham City Games, a local video game store in the neighborhood. Like any good convention, the event will host an adult and child cosplay contest offering cash prizes, as well as a variety of vendors shopping toys, art, comics, retro games and systems and more. But where Geekfest sets itself apart are the gaming tournaments.

You know how it is with greeting cards: You pick a generic one with a poem or sonnet that no one ever reads and right after the holiday they’re dumped in the paper recycling bin. Well, not anymore. Ghost Girl Greetings is reimagining greeting cards with a pop culture twist, drawing and writing cards that are perfect for any occasion for all the horror hounds and geeks in your life.

Instead of the usual disposable cards, Ghost Girls Greetings’ offerings will become fixtures and talking pieces whenever people see them. The company has an Etsy store and was started by two genre-loving “ghoulfriends,” Laurie Necco and Toni Gabriele.

Just in time for the Black Panther premiere, which is already blowing our minds, a Geeks of Doom favorite, RockLove Jewelry, has once again designed a superhero collection based on the newest Marvel phenomenon.
