The teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has sparked a lot of reactions. Fans are watching it repeatedly, prompting tons of commentary, controversy, and analysis.
But now it’s time for some comic relief.
Michael Shanks of TimTimFed most geniusly created a “George Lucas Special Edition” version of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer, and if you’re familiar with the “Special Editions” Lucas did for the original trilogy, then you know that this new spoof is spot-on. I can’t stop laughing!!! Watch it here below.
George Lucas famously littered and altered his beloved creation for the 1997 theatrical release of the original Star Wars trilogy Special Editions (which were furthered messed with for subsequent the home video releases). The digital additions to scenes were awkward and unnecessary, to say the least, and if Lucas was behind the chair for the new movie instead of J.J. Abrams, we’d have a lot more ridiculous CGI clutter and less lens flare.
