I’ve played a lot of video games in my days. It started, as it did for so many of us, when my father brought home a Nintendo one day, and the hypnotic colors and sounds of Super Mario Bros. quickly took a firm hold of our TV set and my own internal thought processor.

One of the many video games I’ve played is Kingdom Hearts, the first game in the hit series from Square Enix, which brings together characters from Final Fantasy, Walt Disney, and The World Ends with You. It’s also one of the few games I rage quit before beating, because Ursula from The Little Mermaid made me want to scream and cry and destroy and entire city using only a butter knife—something that still haunts me to this very day. Perhaps I’ll give it another go eventually, as the lack of closure is driving me bonkers (Seven hells, I beat Dark Souls!). But for now, it’s one that got the best of me.
