The History Channel gave us more to whet our Vikings Season 3 appetites last night, by releasing the 7th video in the webisode series, Athelstan’s Journal: Savagery.
Check out the 7th and newest webisode, along with the previously released webisodes 1-6 here below.
The videos, or “bloody recaps” as I like to call them, use Athelstan (George Blagden) as a narrator to explain the stark, simple, and in a way, brutally honest lifestyle of the Vikings, whom he regards as his family. Chapter 7: Savagery begins, “The savage…he lives in all of us. Some more than others.” The other chapters — Gods, Honor, Loyalty, Sin, Blood, and Family — emphasize these concepts and intersperse scenes from Seasons 1 and 2 to the tune of Athelstan’s slow and ominous narration.
If you need a reminder of what has come to pass since you last watched Vikings, or you just need a fix before the Season 3 premiere Thursday night, here are 7 nice little 4-5 minute packages to fill that need. Also, be sure to check out our feature 10 Reasons To Binge-Watch Vikings Before The Season 3 Premiere as well as the Vikings Season 3 Trailer.
Vikings 3.1 “Mercenary” airs Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 10pm on The History Channel. Stay tuned for my review of that episode.
