Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan

Transmission Films has released a teaser trailer for Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan, an upcoming Vietnam drama.

The movie tells the story of a group of ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) soldiers who found themselves facing an enemy which far outnumbered them in 1966. You can find more info on Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan and watch the new trailer below.

SYNOPSIS:

Late afternoon August 18, 1966 South Vietnam – for three and a half hours, in the pouring rain, amid the mud and shattered trees of a rubber plantation called Long Tan, Major Harry Smith and his dispersed company of 108 young and mostly inexperienced Australian and New Zealand soldiers are fighting for their lives, holding off an overwhelming enemy force of 2,500 battle-hardened Viet Cong and North Vietnamese soldiers.

With their ammunition running out, their casualties mounting and the enemy massing for a final assault, each man begins to search for the strength to triumph over an uncertain future with honour, decency and courage.

Starring in Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan is Travis Fimmel (Vikings, Warcraft), Daniel Webber (The Punisher, 11.22.63), Luke Bracey (Point Break, Hacksaw Ridge), Richard Roxburgh (Van Helsing, Mission: Impossible II), Nicholas Hamilton (IT, Captain Fantastic), Anthony Hayes (The Light Between Oceans, War Machine), and Alexander England (Alien: Covenant, Gods of Egypt) among others.

The film is directed by Kriv Stenders (Kill Me Three Times, Red Dog), from a screenplay written by Stuart Beattie (Collateral, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl). Martin Walsh, John Schwarz, and Michael Schwarz produce.

Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan is set to be released in theaters beginning in Australia on August 8th.
