Kurt Sutter has found his bastard! Executioner, that is.
The cast has been set for the Sons Of Anarchy creator’s new period piece for FX, The Bastard Executioner, according to Deadline, which reports that production on the pilot begins on March 19, 2015 in Wales.
So what do you get when you combine the forces of Sons of Anarchy, True Blood, The Americans, The Last Ship, Penny Dreadful, and Galavant? A ton of well-deserved hype for a pilot that is sure to be put to series.
FX’s full cast descriptions for the series are here below.
Stephen Moyer (True Blood) is on board, and Mathhew Rhys (The Americans) will have a recurring role. The Americans fans do not have to worry as he will remain on his show. Luckily, they share a network. Newcomer Lee Jones was plucked out of Australia for the twisted lead. Sutter shows love to his SOA family (and real-life family, too), with wife Katey Sagal (Gemma on SOA) and Paris Barclay (SOA director) on board from the get-go, and Timothy V. Murphy (Galen O’Shea on SOA) as an ungentle priest. Sutter will do triple duty once again, by serving as writer, executive producer, and actor, playing a mute mate to Sagal’s character. Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo, and Paris Barclay, the latter of whom is directing the pilot, are also executive producers.
Sutter tweeted his excitement pre-announcement last Saturday.
