| NYCC 2017 Video Interview: Cast Of FOX’s Marvel Show ‘The Gifted’
The highly anticipated FOX series The Gifted premiered its first episode last week, and has already received much acclaim for what is being called a solid start to the Marvel show. Set in the same Marvel universe as the X-Men films and loosely connected to FX’s Legion, The Gifted “tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers,” FOX says. Geeks Of Doom had the chance this weekend to sit down and interview stars Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Percy Hynes White at New York Comic-Con 2017.

| ‘The Gifted’ Trailer: FOX Has Their Own ‘X-Men’ TV Show
First, it was Legion. Now it’s The Gifted. Just as Marvel has expanded their little movie universe by taking a step into TV, so has FOX with their X-Men properties. Though these shows then to vary between praises and criticisms, nothing is really going to stop them from being made. So in order to stop from being repetitive, Fox’s The Gifted gets a new angle. A family on the run with their father who used to work for the very people who are chasing them. While it’s a premise we’ve seen before, the added mix of a child with special powers does provide a new Marvel twist. And that may just be the thing to make this show a hit. Check out the full trailer below.

| FOX Gives Full-Series Order To X-Men Show ‘The Gifted’ From Matt Nix, Bryan Singer
In addition to the recent FX series Legion, which was recently renewed for a second season, FOX has also been developing another X-Men spinoff TV series from Burn Notice and The Comedians creator Matt Nix. Some of the things we’ve known about it up to this point include that it would be set in the X-Men universe with mutants, that FOX had ordered a pilot episode set to be directed by longtime X-Men movie director Bryan Singer, and that Jamie Chung would star as Blink. A handful of months after ordering the pilot, FOX has now given a full series order to the show along with an official title: The Gifted. They’ve also released a brief teaser, which can be found below along with more details on the story and cast.

Air Date: Tuesday, November 17th, 2015, 10:00pm Alas! This is the last review ever of The Bastard Executioner, as it was announced today that this FX drama was canceled. Last week on The Bastard Executioner, the big reveal was that Annora is Wilkin’s mother and the Drak Mute his father. We had that inkling though. Kinda cruel then to cut down your own daughter-in-law and grandbaby. Wilkin, Corbett, Toran, et al. (Lee Jones, Stephen Moyer and Sam Spruell), went on a boys hunting party to capture Gaveston, so Lady Love (Flora Spencer-Longhurst) could gain money and control of her shire. There was a lot of bonding amidst the gore. The surviving twin tricked Ash (Darren Evans) and escaped, but she got hers in the end. Ash seems the one killing and setting up the pieces of corpses. They find Gaveston after Wilkin pretends to torture his host’s mistress, and have a fake trial that ends with head removal. Love threatens Jessamy (Sarah Sweeney) to stand down – death of she doesn’t, life of comfort if she does. Wilkin comes back and finds out that Father Ruskin (Timothy V. Murphy) and the boy were taken, which led to that big reveal. Toran is regretting his revenge plan. Spoilers below.

Air Date: Tuesday, November 10th, 2015, 10:00pm Last week on The Bastard Executioner, Lady Love (Flora Spencer-Longhurst) shows her political prowess, impressing her chamberlain Milus (Stephen Moyer). Gaveston is a wanted man, and Love secures money and security for her shire, if they deliver him. Father Ruskin (Timothy V. Murphy) now knows that Annora (Katey Sagal) is not pagan, as she holds The Books of Nazarene (the future New Testament). The clergy wants to destroy it and her. Jessamy (Sarah Sweeney) catches Wilkin (Lee Jones) and Love in an embrace and goes crazy. She is sedated and tied to a bed. The bad priests come and kidnap the warrior priest and Maddox’s son, Luca. Annora shows Wilkin a vision of when he was a baby, and The Dark Mute (Kurt Sutter) cuts down a dozen men seemingly by magic. Spoilers below.
