The Real Reason A New Solo ‘Hulk’ Movie Hasn’t Been Made By Marvel

Avengers: Age of Ultron Hulk Character Poster Header

The Hulk was thrust into the Marvel Cinematic Universe back in 2008 when Tony Stark made a cameo appearance at the end of The Incredible Hulk. By that time we were slowly learning that Marvel was building up to The Avengers. However, since the film’s release we have yet to hear news on a solo Hulk film. We’ve heard many rumors throughout the since the release of The Avengers, one of the biggest ones being that the “Planet Hulk” storyline would be the premise of the film. And now we are finally learning why we haven’t seen a solo Hulk film despite the success of the MCU and fan requests.

Simply enough, the film rights are still over at Universal. This perhaps may explain a few things like why Betty Ross’s name is never mentioned in the first and (minor spoiler) second Avengers. Hit the jump for more.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 5 Debuts To Series High Viewers Despite Leaked Episodes

Game Of Thrones Season 5 Daniel Portman as Podrick Payne and Gwendoline Christie as Brienne of Tarth

Game of Thrones finally returned to our eager eyeballs again this past Sunday after another difficult nine and a half month wait—a particularly tough wait if you live in the Northeast or any other cold weather location that got slapped around by Old Man Winter—with the first episode of season five, “The Wars to Come” (read our review here).

Before the first episode arrived, however, a bit of a problem arose when the first four episodes of the season leaked online. When you think about the amount of time and effort that many people put into producing Thrones, all relying on only ten short hours of the entire year to make that work worth it, you understand how the first four of ten episodes ending up online before the first episode has even aired (said to have been downloaded over one million times) could be devastating.

But Game of Thrones is a different kind of beast than most shows. Not only did the new season debut strong, but it set a new series high.

The Following Michael Ealy

The Following
Season 3 Episode 8: “Flesh & Blood”
Created by Kevin Williamson
Directed by Marcos Siega
Written by Michael McGrale, Mary Leah Sutton
Starring Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy, Shawn Ashmore, Sam Underwood, Valerie Cruz, Jessica Stroup, Michael Ealy
FOX
Air Date: Monday, April 13th, 2015, 9:00pm

Before we get to the review of The Following 3.8 “Flesh & Blood,” here’s a quick recap of last week.

We got a clear vision of Theo, the psychotic “best student” of Arthur Strauss. Having murdered the good doctor, Theo (Michael Ealy) demonstrated his skills as a cyber serial killer by sitting right out in the open in front Max Hardy’s investigation, killing and framing everyone in his path. Max (Jessica Stroup) barely avoided joining his kill-list.

The Following 3.8 “Flesh & Blood” review: We begin Episode 8 with chief suspect Tucker Moore being ceremoniously dispatched by Theo… in a kitchen meat grinder! What complicates Theo is that he appears to be the perfect family man. Sure his wife suspects him of cheating, but not mass murder. Few characters I can think of on television have ever had the drastic duality of Theo. One minute he’s throwing his wife a surprise party, the next murdering her best friend and husband. See… I told you he wasn’t cheating on her!
