Pallas’s trial consists mostly of Pallas trying not to call Aegeus a whipped moron to his face while Aegeus and his ugly bathrobe yell at Xerxes to tell the story of the olive tree that got Pallas in trouble in the first place. It’s not going well for Pallas until Lykos — who’s only just now hearing from Kimon what happened — interrupts to take responsibility for the surrender parlay. Aegeus evidently can’t death-sentence his son, though he could do it to his brother, so everyone wins. Well, almost…
