What I can give you is this: “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Tate needs help from the last person he ever thought about asking. As a matter of fact, he’d like to kill that person with his bare hands.

Burn, penned by Sarah Fine and Walter Jury, is the continuation of Tate Archer’s story that began with Scan. That story saw rebellious Tate sneak into his Dad’s lab, and take a scanner to school, causing a crazy and dangerous chase for him, his mother, and Christina, his H2 girlfriend. Scan ended on a helluva cliffhanger. Burn gives us a satisfying reward as a conclusion.

This one might even be better than the first novel. It is non-stop action from start to finish, intermingled with science and technology (albeit science fiction-y) solutions. I mentioned this in the last review, but this will be a really exciting (and profitable) YA series to screen project. I’m surprised I haven’t heard buzz about it yet, especially since Walter Jury is the pen name of Divergent producer, Pouya Shabazian. This is right up his alley.

I have to think that they will keep writing about these characters, because of the endless conflict possibilities in this world they have created.
