Diabolicum-3

On July 7th, 2015 Swedish industrial black metal giant Diabolicum awakens from a 14-year slumber. The band’s new offering is titled Ia Pazuzu (The Abyss Of The Shadows), and is the first full length from these legendary misanthropes since 2001.

New vocalist Niklas Kvarforth (Shining) and lead guitarist Likstrand play prominently into Diabolicum’s reinvigorated aural assault. There have been two advance tracks from the record – “Silent Spring,” which is being previewed exclusively over at Decibel Magazine’s website, and “Salvation Through Vengeance,” which is streaming exclusively on No Clean Singing’s site. Both tracks are fierce slices of industrial black metal that showcase why Diabolicum are at the forefront of the genre.

While we wait for the release of Ia Pazuzu (The Abyss Of The Shadows), let’s take this Black Metal Friday to examine a classic Diabolicum track. This is the title track of the band’s 2001 album The Dark Blood Rising
