It’s been a long time coming, but we’re finally getting a sequel to 1996’s popular alien-disaster movie Independence Day, with stars Jeff Goldblum, Vivica A. Fox, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, and Brent Spiner all reprising their roles.
Goldblum, the Jurassic Park star who last year participated in one of those popular Dinosaur Chase wedding photos, recently joined Facebook, with his inaugural post being a photo of himself on set of Independence Day: Resurgence with co-star Liam Hemsworth providing a nice photobomb.
Check out the photo here below.
Here’s what Goldblum posted on his first day officially on Facebook on July 2, 2015:
So there I was thinking about how I would save mankind when this guy photobombs me. Oh, why hello Facebook, nice to finally meet you.

While there were discussions to bring back mega-star Will Smith, in the end talks fell through, as the Fresh Prince was reportedly “too expensive” cast. Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth will take the lead this time around.
Along with the aforementioned returning cast members, IDR also stars Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Joey King and William Fichtner, with director Roland Emmerich also back at the helm. The sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on June 24, 2016.
