This time last year, BBC One announced the renewal of their popular television series Sherlock for a fourth season, along with a 2015 Christmas Special to precede it.
Now, the network has released the first official photo from the upcoming Sherlock special, which shows Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role of super sleuth Sherlock Holmes with Martin Freeman as his crime-solving partner Dr. John Watson.
Check it out here below!
The new image was posted to Facebook by the official BBC Sherlock page with the caption “They’re coming back… Here’s the first official photo from the upcoming Sherlock special “ª#”Ž221Back”¬”
The network has previously released a different teaser image for the show back in November.
The special, which had previously been touted as a Christmas Special, will air late 2015, presumably around the holidays, with the three-episode Season 4 to air in 2016. EW previously confirmed that the Special will take place during the Victorian era London, hence the attire clothes and Freeman’s facial hair.
BBC will be promoting Sherlock at a panel tomorrow at Comic-Con International in San Diego, CA. We have our troops on the ground there now, so look forward to our extensive SDCC coverage over the next few days right here at Geeks Of Doom!

You may want to fix John Watson being “her” partner.
