As the fall TV season gets closer, casting and teaser news seems to pile up faster and faster, especially on the heels of SDCC 2015. We recently found out that on Arrow, Neal McDonough has been cast as Damien Darhk (first alluded to at the end of season 3), and that two new characters, Mr. Terrific and Anarky, will arrive in season 4. Now we know who will play them.
Echo Kellum (Ben and Kate, Sean Saves the World), has been cast as Curtis Holt aka Mr. Terrific, a techie genius from Palmer Technologies, who is sure to hang around Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) a lot. Comic incarnations of Mr. Terrific have been millionaire athlete vigilante Terry Sloane, and Michael Holt, the 3rd smartest man in the world. Kellum’s version will no doubt have pieces of these melded with some of his own characteristics. Oliver (Stephen Amell) has nothing to worry about in the “close Felicity proximity” department. Executive producer Greg Berlanti revealed at SDCC that Mr. Terrific will be gay.

Alexander Calvert, most recently of The Returned (Hunter), has been cast as Anarky, who from the comics, went against the government for the good of the people. Arrow season 4’s Anarky is described as:
“Lonnie Machin (AKA Anarky) is a deranged freelancing criminal who is willing to do whatever it takes to impress a potential employer.”
That’s kinda different, but we’ll take it!

Perhaps the most exciting possibility, is the hope that was given to fans during a Comic-Con interview with Amell, Rickards, and Executive Producer Wendy Mericle, about bringing Matt Ryan‘s John Constantine to Arrow. Mericle said:
“We really want to do it. It’s something we’ve been talking to DC [Entertainment] about, and it’s just a question of some political things, but also the actor’s schedule. We’re trying to work it out, but we don’t know 100 percent if it’s going to happen.”
“Fingers crossed” Amell interjected.
“But we’re really optimistic and we would love to have him” Mericle concluded.
Our fingers are crossed too, Stephen Amell. Save Constantine!
