‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot Cast and Crew Send Message To The Haters (Photo)

Ghostbusters Stars Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Kate McKinnon

It still surprises me that we live in a time where an all-female Ghostbusters film is deemed unacceptable by some. Last time I checked, it was 2015. Whatever the reasons why the haters say what they are saying about the new Ghostbusters, the film lead by Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones is still happening. While it is not surprising to see the vitriol reactions for the reboot (not all of it on the idea of an all-female Ghostbusters) on social media, McCarthy has stepped up to show just how powerful women can be, and not only the female performing talent, but the talent behind the stunts, writing, editing, makeup, costumes, casting, and much much more.

Check out the actress’ latest Instagram post below, which includes a photo of the female cast and crew members of the upcoming film with a message.

While the haters have voiced their opinions on social media, it’s not as if those who are supporting the film are just sitting there silently. They have voiced their endorsement for the film, and McCarthy’s latest post only validates their hard work, not only in front of the camera, but behind it as well. The post was made on the cusp of Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow’s controversial tweet about the gender imbalance when it comes to females being given the chance to direct blockbuster films.

Now will this silence the haters? Probably not. But you can be sure that every female who contributed to this movie in some way won’t put up with their BS, and will show that they are just as much of an asset as their male counterparts.

Ghostbusters is scheduled for a July 15, 2016 theatrical release.

  1. For me, it has to do with apparent incessant need to make things more balanced or politically correct if you will when remaking or rebooting something that likely shouldn’t have been remade or rebooted.

  2. Im looking forward to seeing it…if its as good as the original then i see no problems…i man damm they remade superman, spiderman, hulk and other movies how many times??? the haters need to just suck it up and move on

  3. I don’t like the cast. Not because there are women Ghostbusters; but because of the cast. I don’t care for Melissa McCarthy. The whole ‘all girl cast’ is a bit to gimmicky for me as well.

  4. This, I think, is the biggest issue with the film. It certainly is in my circle. But give the PR people credit, they take the issue of the cast and turn it into an issue of gender.

  5. When we posted the link to this story on our FB page, the women-haters come out of the woodwork. Some comments were saying “I don’t know why people keep saying the hate is because it’s a female cast,” so I was like, take a look at the other comments here and you’ll see!!!
