The Dark Knight Rises is one of those movies that when it came out, felt epic. The performances, the music, Bane shattering Batman’s back… it was so good, you kinda ignored the gaping plot holes. Then you watched it again and, OH, there they are. These plot holes come up big in Machinima‘s Real Fake History, detailing the battle of Gotham City from Christopher Nolan’s concluding part to his Batman trilogy.

When rumors spread that Bane was hiding in the sewers, the ENTIRE Gotham police force went in to find him. No really, every cop but three. It’s kind of insultingly dumb when you think about it. I mean Gotham is supposed to be New York, so could you imagine the insanity of that… I digress. The faux-documentary style videos show texts from trapped cops to their wives, showing the happiness at getting razors to shave, despite being trapped under the city for MONTHS!!!
Once they got out, the next ill conceived steps were taken. As Winston Norwood, a strategic expert explains, they could have flanked out Bane’s mercenary army and won a fairly easy battle, but instead lined up and charged straight ahead. Bane’s army, even dumber it seems, failed to use its machine guns, and went with the tried and true, beat them fist to fist. And when Batman shows up, NO ONE attacks him… a cop says “it was like it was a Batman parade and they just let him through.”
As they prep you for what’s next after the break, the narrator gets a little distracted by Catwoman’s (Anne Hathaway) “back entry point.”
