Bradley Cooper in Burnt

Oddly enough, Bradley Cooper has already played as a down-on-his-luck chef given a second chance at taking his career to the next level. But that was before he was nominated for multiple Academy Awards and voiced a hot-headed gun-toting raccoon. In Burnt, Cooper is Adam Jones, a world-renowned two-star Michelin chef of a Parisian restaurant who had it all. However, his ego got in the way, and he lost it all.

Now he has a second chance to regain the respect he once had, while also finding love and the real meaning of passion for food. Check out the latest trailer for Burnt here below.

I’ve been fascinated with food, so a film like this has gotten my attention. Sienna Miller, Omar Sy, Daniel Brühl, Matthew Rhys, Uma Thurman, and Emma Thompson round out the terrific cast. But it’s the attention to detail that goes into shooting the food that has my interest. There is a certain kind of art when it comes the process of plating food.

Now Cooper doesn’t seem to be rehashing his Jack Bourdain role from Kitchen Confidential. Burnt looks as if it is more intense and emotional, with a slight bit of humor to lighten the heaviness. We see his character struggling with his inner demons, dealing with his past, and even trying to find some shelter by rooming with a chef who is willing to work with him for free. But we also see him crack-wise and be a bit playful.

Directed by John Wells (writer and director of Shameless and ER) from a script by Steven Knight (Locke), Burnt opens in theaters on October 23, 2015.

Chef Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) had it all – and lost it. A two-star Michelin rockstar with the bad habits to match, the former enfant terrible of the Paris restaurant scene did everything different every time out, and only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To land his own kitchen and that third elusive Michelin star though, he’ll need the best of the best on his side, including the beautiful Helene (Sienna Miller). BURNT is a remarkably funny and emotional story about the love of food, the love between two people, and the power of second chances.
