SPOILERS for The Walking Dead Episode 6.1 “Last Time Again”
AMC’s The Walking Dead Episode 6.1 “Last Time Again,” the 90-minute season premiere, aired last night and it was awesome!!! Season 5 went out with the bang, literary, and the season had spent many episodes on Rick and his possible loss of humanity. Most of us who’ve followed this leader for five seasons understand what he’s been through and the decisions he’s had to make to save his group, and I for one would follow him to the ends of the earth. It’s obvious that so would his close circle — like Michonne, Glenn, and Carol — but the citizens of the Alexandria Safe Zone don’t know Rick like we do. To them, he’s an outside who seems to choose force over reason. But, with this premiere, all the residents are finally on the same page — Rick knows what’s he’s doing, he knows what’s he’s talking about, and he has a major plan to keep them all safe. Now, it’s time to enact that plan – ready or not.
The network has released the “most talked about scene” from the episode, which dealt with Rick having to quickly put Carter out of his misery. AMC has also released two behind-the-scenes featurettes — one is a 4 1/2-minute “Making of” featurette about filming the quarry scene, while the other is a 5 1/2-minute “Inside Look” at where the characters are at the start of Season 6; Rick’s reunion with Morgan; and how the group is going to handle the imminent breach at the quarry.
Rick and the group are still having trouble assimilating into Alexandria. Will a new threat bring them closer together or drive them further apart?
The Walking Dead, which stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Michael Cudlitz, and more, airs on AMC on Sunday nights at 9/8c, followed by the one-hour post-live show Talking Dead hosted by Chris Hardwick.
Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, “The Walking Dead” reigns as television’s most watched drama for adults 18-49. “The Walking Dead” tells the story of the months and years that follow after a zombie apocalypse, and follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home. The series, which has been heralded by critics as “an honest-to-God phenomenon” (Variety), “relentless and provocative” (Orlando Sentinel) and “brilliantly engaging” (TheHollywoodNews.com), stars Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes; Steven Yeun as Glenn; Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon; Chandler Riggs as Carl; Lauren Cohan as Maggie; Danai Gurira as Michonne; Melissa McBride as Carol; Sonequa-Martin Green as Sasha; and Michael Cudlitz as Abraham. The series is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Greg Nicotero and Tom Luse.
