A trailer was released recently for a movie titled He Never Died. The movie stars Henry Rollins as an anti-social immortal cannibal struggling with depression on a mission to get his long-lost daughter (Jordan Todosey) back from the crime boss who took her. The movie also stars Steven Ogg, who’s best known for playing Trevor in Grand Theft Auto V, as the crime boss.
You can read more about the movie and watch the trailer below. This is a red band trailer, so a NSFW warning is in effect.
The Story
When you find yourself living forever, sure, the first 200, even 300 years might be one grand ball of parties and fornication, But who among us would stay interested after the first 1,000 years, let alone the first 10,000.
And that is where we find Jack, An immortal cannibal detached from humanity.
Depression and severe anti-social behavior has whittled down Jack’s existence to sleeping and watching television. Seeing the human race as little more than meat with a pulse, Jack has no interest to bond with anyone. There’s little purpose for him to make friends with someone he’d eventually eat or outlive by more than a millennia. The fuse is lit when Jack’s past comes back to rattle him. Jack must now walk a tight rope of sobriety and try to eat as few people as possible in this violent tale of personal responsibility.
As it turns out, there are very few reasons to live when you can’t die.
As you probably guessed given the fact that there’s a trailer, the movie is already made. Even so, an Indiegogo campaign is currently running to try to raise the funds necessary to market and give He Never Died a theatrical run. Their goal is $50,000 and they’ve raised almost $14,000 with 21 days to go, so they could use a little help.
Fair warning before watching the trailer: many people in the comments on YouTube seem pretty angry about this trailer spoiling the movie. Whether these are people who have actually seen the movie or people who just assume it spoils the movie without actually seeing it first, I have no idea. I watched it and, while there is a big reveal, am still plenty excited to see the movie when it comes out. Take that as you will and proceed if you wish.
