Violent Delights is a weekly podcast where hosts Andrew Sorcini, Dwayne DeFreitas, and Tosin Onafowokan discuss HBO’s Westworld, and the larger questions this ambitious show hopes to tackle.
On this week’s podcast, Andrew, Tosin, and Dwayne deconstruct the seventh episode of Westworld‘s second season, Episode 2.9 “Vanishing Point,” as they ask, how flawed exactly is QA’s host test device?, Why couldn’t Teddy shoot Wanahton?, Is “Grace”/Emily dead?, and WHAT’S GONNA HAPPEN TO ELSIE??!!!!…
Try to kill it all away, but I remember everything.
What’s real and what’s not is a theme in this episode that sets up MIB shooting Grace. It works especially given his monologue at the end…The one that drove his wife to kill herself.
Alexander wept when he heard Anaxarchus discourse about an infinite number of worlds, and when his friends inquired what ailed him, “Is it not worthy of tears,” he said, “that, when the number of worlds is infinite, we have not yet become lords of a single one?”
