In the midst of barrage of rock-n-roll deaths, the gang at Screen Junkies pay tribute to the great David Bowie by giving Labyrinth the Honest Trailer treatment. So let’s go back to a wonderful time of horrible babysitters, creepy looking muppets, and Goblin Kings who look like crazy rock stars in 1986’s Labyrinth… dear god, that’s 30 years ago…

Narrator Jon Bailey comes right out and in full disclosure admits they’d probably never do an Honest Trailer for Labyrinth, but do it in tribute to Bowie, who passed away last week from cancer. So forget everything about the plot and acting, and watch it for David Bowie’s turn as Jareth the Goblin King, “a magical creature that can only be described as… David Bowie.” I did a spit take at that line at work and interrupted a meeting. Touche Jon Bailey… Touche. His performance is so great, you’ll forget his character kidnapped a baby and is trying to seduce a 16-year old; although to be fair, it is Jennifer Connelly.

They do a little montage of Connelly growing up throughout the 80s only for us to feel really uncomfortable watching her “do anything” for drugs in Requiem for a Dream. Relive all the Jim Henson imagination craziness with muppets galore (including some legitimate scary looking ones). Oh and there’s a lot of fart jokes! Bailey compares Labyrinth to Neverending Story and Goonies as ’80s classics that don’t quite hold up… and totally call BS on The Goonies; that’s an all timer!
