Season 6 of The Walking Dead returns this weekend, ending its months-long hiatus after the mid-season finale back in November.

While we await the upcoming mid-season premiere, AMC has released the first 4 minutes of the new episode, EP 6.9 “No Way Out.” Watch it here below!

If you’re not caught up on The Walking Dead yet, AMC is currently doing a FULL SERIES marathon, so tune in and get ready. Obviously, if you’re NOT caught up at this time, then everything in this video and what I’m about to write will be a spoiler for you, so be warned.

Ok, with that, the last we saw Rick and company, they were back at the Alexandria Safe Zone and were anything but safe, as the Walkers had finally (as Rick predicted) breached the compound. Time for the gang to pull out once of their old tricks — the zombie guts attire — to sneak in plain site passed their undead attackers. Seemed to be going well, too, until young Sam, a complete moron of a boy, starts calling for his mommy.

That’s how the mid-season finale ended, but AMC later aired a 2-minute prologue to the mid-season premiere, which has now been incorporated into this new 4-minute look, which extends this scene. The prologue saw Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham driving back to the Safe Zone when they are ambushed by Negan’s men. Since November, we’ve known that Negan is coming in the second half of the season, and that the character, who is part of Robert Kirkman’s comic book series, will be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Negan doesn’t make his appearance in the opening, but it looks like he’s already making his mark. This is a character who’s so villainous he will put all previous Walking Dead baddies to shame. The remainder of Season 6 looks like it will be a real hard one for Rick and his people.

Season 6 of The Walking Dead returns this Sunday, February 14, 2016, at 9pm on AMC. The live post-show Talking Dead with host Chris Hardwick airs at 10pm, immediately after The Walking Dead mid-season premiere.
