Valiant comics releases

Here are the newest comic releases from Valiant Entertainment. The big one here is the new A&A: The Adventures Of Archer & Armstrong; it is definitely my pick of this group. Too often comic books take themselves too seriously, whereas this seems to take delight in having a good time. But take a look through them all, you might find something that’s just right for you!

GET SMASHED”¦OR BE SMASHED! Valiant’s (somewhat) dynamic duo are going “IN THE BAG” for AN ALL-NEW ONGOING SERIES from rising star Rafer Roberts and comic book superstar David Lafuente!

Meet Armstrong: Since the ancient city of Ur, this immortal adventurer has spent the last 7,000 years drinking and carousing his way through history alongside some of the greatest merrymakers the world has ever known.

Meet Archer: A sheltered teenage martial arts master and expert marksman that was raised for a single purpose – to kill the devil incarnate. Little did he know that this undying evil was actually Armstrong (he’s actually a pretty good guy”¦once you get to know him) and, since hitting the road together, the two have become great friends and even better partners.

Now: Archer is about to set off on his most dangerous mission yet – a quest into the mystic reaches of Armstrong’s bottomless satchel to liberate his friend and comrade from the clutches of the mad god Bacchus! (Okay, so, Armstrong went into the satchel himself to get a bottle of whiskey that he kinda misplaced and got stuck. It’s like the Amazon warehouse of arcane treasures in there”¦and he doesn’t exactly have a maid service.)

Imprisoned in Armstrong’s satchel for centuries, Bacchus now commands a legion of monsters, goblins and golems bent on escaping back into the world of man and enacting revenge on their captor”¦ Can Archer single-handedly combat the godly embodiment of intoxication himself – and rescue his best buddy – without becoming lost amongst Armstrong’s endless repository of bizarre artifacts and historical oddities in the process?

I’m not going to lie, this looks to be a lot of fun. The premise and the characters are hilarious. I foresee many hi-jinks in the future for this comic!

Wrath Of The Eternal Warrior #5Wrath Of The Eternal Warrior #5

Written by Robert Venditti
Art by Juan Jose Ryp

ALL-NEW JUMPING-ON POINT! “PRELUDE TO LABYRINTH” – PART 1!

His wife has been murdered. His son has been kidnapped. As The Eternal Warrior sets out on his greatest challenge yet, an old enemy rears his head. How will his ancient rivalry with Gilad change The Eternal Warrior’s future forever?

The road to LABYRINTH starts here with the FIRST ISSUE of a special two-part prelude from New York Times best-selling writer Robert Venditti (BOOK OF DEATH) and blockbuster artist Juan José Ryp (NINJAK)!

This is really the perfect spot for new readers to get on board. The story is amazing and you’ll enjoy the fast pace of the series.

Imperium #14Imperium #14

Written by Joshua Dysart
Art by Khari Evans
$3.99

“STORMBREAK” – PART 2! Toyo Harada has brought war to the Foundation Zone”¦and Livewire and H.A.R.D. Corps are manning the frontline!

To his enemies, Harada is a despotic madman with a messiah complex. But to countless refugees and subjects of tyranny, Harada has been a savior and a benevolent provider. Now his world-changing Foundation Zone has grown faster than even he planned for. With diseases to cure, mouths to feed”¦and all of humanity to save”¦Harada will go to war against former allies and longtime enemies. At stake? The resources he needs for the Foundation Zone to succeed. In the balance? Everything Harada has ever built and fought for.

This is a new one to me, I was a little lost going in but the comic is very story driven and I found myself catching up quickly. I’ll be looking for the earlier issues of this series!
