Zod Actor Michael Shannon On ‘Batman v Superman’

Michael Shannon as General Zod Batman v Superman

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice hit theaters this past weekend, and so far we’ve posted two reviews that did not speak favorably about the film. Zack Snyder‘s follow-up to Man of Steel currently has an astonishing 29% on Rotten Tomatoes, while the audience score stands at 73%. And let’s not forget that Sad Affleck meme. Looks like Snyder has successfully created yet another polarizing film where the apologists will be working all hours of the night to convince you that this is the best movie, even better than anything Marvel could come up with.

But the one person who seems to not give an actual f*** about this movie is the one person who had a vital role in Man of Steel. Michael Shannon, who played Superman nemesis General Zod, has given his thoughts — if you could call it that — on who he thinks would win in a fight between Batman and Superman. Short answer, he doesn’t care. At all. Not in the least bit. Check out what he had to say here below.

Vulture had asked celebrities about who they think would win in a fight between the two iconic DC superheroes. As teased above, Shannon gives an apathetic answer to this debate.

I’m so utterly unconcerned with the outcome of that fight. So profoundly, utterly unconcerned. I can’t even come up with a fake answer. I guess I have to root for Superman because he killed me, so I would hope that he would continue his killing spree and become like a serial killer Superman. That’s a new take on Superman. We’d all be in a heap of trouble if Superman was a serial killer. He could just wipe us all out. But then he’d be lonely.

Well, that certainly speaks volumes. He can’t even indulge us with a fake answer and provides a brutally honest “I just don’t give an “f***” kind of answer.

In an attempt to save the interview and get a legitimate answer, the interviewer says that Superman is already lonely. To which Shannon responds: “Well, we’re all lonely.”

Touche, Mr. Shannon. The actor currently stars in Midnight Special and can be seen in BvS.

  1. Why would he care about it? He’s obviously not a comic fan. His terse response sounds more like he’s annoyed that some dope reporter even asked him about it. And it’s definitely not some sort of confirmation that the movie stinks, which it seems is what this article is shooting for. Nice try.
