Fans were devastated to learn that the new Silent Hill game, which had been announced a couple of years back from Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and Hellboy and Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro starring The Walking Dead‘s Norman Reedus, was canceled by Konami.
But while we’ll never get to play that game, Kojima isn’t letting that slow him down. Now that he has departed Konami, Kojima was back at E3 2016 to share the first trailer for his new game, titled Death Stranding, which stars…wait for it…Norman Reedus! What’s the game about you ask? I have absolutely zero freakin’ clue, but the trailer is one strange trip. You’ll absolutely have more questions after watching it than answers. Continue below to check it out.
While this is exciting for many, don’t get too excited yet. This one is still a long, long way off. Kojima talked to YouTube Gaming’s Geoff Keighley after the presentation, and said that they had hadn’t even settled on a game engine to make it with yet.
Kojima also confirmed that former Silent Hills partner Guillermo del Toro is not involved with the project at the moment.
Be sure check out the rest of our E3 2016 coverage if you missed anything.
