20th Century Fox has dropped a new trailer for Tim Burton‘s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
The film stars Eva Green as a foster mother to children with very peculiar powers, and protects them from those who seek to exploit it. She takes an interest in a young boy (Asa Butterfield), whom she believes will be their protector. Check out the trailer below.
Miss Peregrine’s has been called Tim Burton’s X-Men, and it comes as no surprise. Just looking at this trailer and the one that came before it, it’s clear that Miss Peregrine is the wise Professor Charles Xavier of this film, although there aren’t exactly any characters like Wolverine, Cyclops, or Phoenix. Still, it doesn’t seem like Burton needs any of them, as these characters created by author Ransom Riggs fit his style and personality. Also starring is Ella Purnell, Chris O’Dowd, Allison Janney, Terence Stamp, Kim Dickens, Rupert Everett, Judi Dench, and Samuel L. Jackson.
This wouldn’t be the first time that Green and Burton have collaborated together on a project. The two worked together on Dark Shadows, another adaptation that did not get the kind of reception that the studio was hoping for. So let’s cross our fingers that this film gets better results.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children opens September 30, 2016.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
