Disney’s Descendants took the tween world by storm last summer, as the newest obsession, not seen since High School Musical. This musical story of redemption of the children of Disney villains was delightful and unique. The talented cast already came with a Disney fan base, not that they needed it, but it helps. Although not scheduled to be released until next summer, Disney gave us a 10-second teaser of Descendants 2… well, to tease us.

The video shows the 4 pals, Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos (Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart, and Cameron Boyce) walking and happily chatting. As the camera moves out, you see them throught the lens of a crystal ball that is underwater. A tentacle cracks the glass and we hear an evil laugh. The friends notice… something.

Uma, daughter of Ursula (for those of you from another planet – The Little Mermaid villain) is already cast. China Anne McClain (House of Payne, Descendants: Wicked World) will play the offspring of our favorite evil cephalopod. Kenny Ortega will direct again, and the writers of the original, Josann McGibbon and Sara Parriott are penning this sequel.

Descendants 2 is set to be released in summer of 2017 on The Disney Channel.
