Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

BBC America has released the first look at Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, their upcoming original television series based on the book by Douglas Adams.

Check out the first image here below.

The image shows Samuel Barnett as detective Dirk Gently and Elijah Wood as Todd, Dirk’s reluctant assistant, seen holding a corgi.

Screenwriter Max Landis (Chronicle) is writing and executive-producing the TV series along with showrunner Robert Cooper (Stargate Atlantis). Of Gently, Landis said this to EW:

“He believes that everything is connected and just by living his life, wandering from place to place, he will be able to solve any mystery put in front of him.”

Of Todd, Landis said:

“He’s honestly not gung-ho about helping Dirk do anything, much less be his assistant.”

Jade Eshete also stars in the series as Farah Black, a billionaire’s beautiful security officer, and the show will also introduce The Rowdy 3, a group of anarchist vampires.

Back in May, Landis posted a photo to his Twitter referencing The Rowdy 3 – see below.

BBC America will be bringing a Dirk Gently panel featuring the cast and crew to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International on Saturday, July 23, 2016. Details just below.
