At New York Comic-Con, everything geeks love is gloriously conglomerated into one place. There is so much to see that sometimes it can seem like a daunting task. In addition to comics, prints, figures, and games, there is also a proverbial cornucopia of clothing and accessory exhibitors. This week, I am highlighting some of the most exciting and unique clothing and accessory exhibitors in preparation of the exciting events to come!
Feature Vendor: Moss Fete

Moss Fete Rams Horn Cap Review
Rams Horn Cap
Moss Fete caters to the whimsical heart and imaginative mind. Offering “accoutrements for the alter-ego” in the form of vintage and fantasy-inspired hats, Moss Fete is a branch of the brand Miss Fitt. The company owner and artist, Wendy, started specializing in hand-felted hats in 2003, and her skill shows.
The Rams Horn Cap is unique and carefully made with fine attention to detail. Mine is slightly different from what is shown on the website: it has a subtle ombré fade from a warm chestnut brown to a medium hunter green. I would describe the horns as an elephant grey, and they are wired and poseable. Moss Fete’s website describes this product as an “everyday hat with a twist,” and this is totally accurate. It fits very comfortably, and without the horns, it might just be seen as a high-quality, handmade beanie of sorts. The horns add a fantastical feel for those days when being a “normal human” just isn’t enough.
[Coincidence? I think not. The day after I received the Rams Horn Cap, my husband had the privilege of meeting a real life ram and sent me this photo!]
Moss Fete items include vests, fingerless mittens, dragon scarves (if you want to be like Khaleesi – who doesn’t?), classic cloches, wings, collars, and more. Two that have definitely caught my eye are the Beauxbatons/Fleur Delacour/Harry Potter-inspired French blue witch hat and the cloche hat with kraken. The style choices are as varied as the “critters” Moss Fete creates (Tarantula Top Hat or Bunny Bowler, anyone?).
[What kind of review would this be if I didn’t try the hat on my dog, Sophie Esmeralda? She’s looking very stoic and regal as she transforms into a ram.]
Make sure to check out Moss Fete and join their self-described “fairy party” during Comic-Con weekend October 6-9 at booth #2274. You can also visit their website at www.moss-fete.com.
