Here’s a movie comparison you weren’t expecting to see today. Unless of course you’ve already seen it. In which case, hi there! What brings you here? Excellent, welcome. Oh, there’s a snack machine ’round the back if you’re hungry.
Right then, where were we? Ah, yes. Unexpected movie comparisons. In a new video, YouTube channel Couch Tomato makes the wild argument that The Monster Squad and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban are actually the same movie. In the video they back up the claim with 24 side-by-side pieces of evidence.
Do they make a solid case? I’ll leave that up to you to decide. I just look for any excuse to write about The Monster Squad.
You can stop by Couch Tomato‘s YouTube channel for many more videos.
Some are like this one and show how two different movies are the same, such as Galaxy Quest and Star Trek, Training Day and Zootopia, Ghostbusters II and Pixels, Speed and Mad Max: Fury Road, Thor and Howard the Duck, Star Wars and The Force Awakens, and The Lion King and The Jungle Book, which is a bit awkward with Jungle Book director Jon Favreau now set to direct Disney’s live-action Lion King. Other videos claim more than two movies are the same such as every Batman movie or every X-Men movie. Then there’s the videos showing how some movies are different, such as Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters (2016).
