Last time on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Damian Darhk (Neal McDonough) narrated the opening, and we got to see how Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) hooked up with Darhk and Eobard Thawne (Matt Letscher). There was trouble in paradise, with the two seething at Eobard Thawne’s highhandness, while simultaneously at each other’s throats. They were trying to get info out of Rip (Arthur Darvill), but the info just wasn’t there. A safety deposit box in 2025 had a piece of the Spear of Destiny, but they could not get in. Malcolm and Darhk have an assassins sword fight, until the “hippie” made them realize that they should work together. Lily Stein (Christina Brucato) found out she was a time aberration. The team figured out why Thawne was always on the move. The Legion of Doom trapped the monster (kinda looks like a zombie Flash) in a bank vault as partners.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow 2.11 “Turncoat” review: It is Christmas Day 1776, Rip Hunter killed General Washington, and will lead the British to defeat the Americans. This causes a huge time aberration, obviously.
Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Nate (Nick Zano) get a little closer. That’s cute and makes her way more interesting.
Sara (Caity Lotz) knows it’s a trap, but… “Let’s go save America.”
Sara insists that General Washington come with them but then the trap is set – Rip shoots Sarah and takes Washington and Rory. They knock out the power in the ship and Ray’s (Brandon Routh) atom suit.
Amaya and Nate get into a fight (not with each other) which lands Nate in a frozen river. He’s shivering and she uses her body to warm him. Sexy. They kiss… and more. But they “mutually” decide to be friends.
Rip and the British attack the timeship. Jax goes to distract them while Stein tries to perform surgery on Sarah. Rip hunts Jax on the dark ship. He even tries a little dead dad bribery, but Jax is too honorable. Rip kills Sara. Luckily, tiny Ray eludes the giant rat chasing him, and hits the power switch. Gideon saves Sarah.
General Cornwallis will have George Washington hung in the morning, and “Georgie” is ready to accept his fate, but Rory gives an inspiring speech to him about Americans. The next morning they fight their way out. History is restored.
Jax is about to kill Rip, but Sara stops him. He walks away with the Spear of Destiny.
The team celebrates Christmas together.
“We saved America and we’re gonna save Rip.”
I do not understand Rip not feeling a glimmer of anything. No Legion tonight, but they will be back next week. I really want Snart to become a real member, because I miss Wentworth Miller. It will also provide a lot of emotion denial from Mick which is always enjoyable. The Amaya/Nate romance is adorable, and the denial of feelings will provide some good tension.
The episode was decent. I always find the time periods quite interesting, but they have had better episodes. I felt like Mick really carried the whole thing in this one, although the romance was cute.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow airs Tuesday nights at 9:00pm ET on The CW.
