Drunk Disney Beauty and the Beast

Disney’s new live-action film Beauty and the Beast is in theaters now AND it’s St. Patrick’s Day, and the stars have aligned to bring the 1991 animated Beauty and the Beast and alcohol together, and with that comes a new video from Practical Folks: Drunk Disney: Beauty and the Beast. The Practical Folks are a group of comedians who started on YouTube in 2010, and their Drunk Disney series is hugely popular, with their Lion King video quickly approaching half a million views. Beauty and the Beast is actually their 50th in this series.

Watch the Drunk Disney: Beauty and the Beast episode here below.

Each episode features an assortment of the Practical Folks: James Janisse, Chelsea Rebecca, James Graessle, and Joel Arnold watching the film of choice while playing a drinking game using a film-inspired cocktail. Beauty and the Beast gets the aptly titled “Enchanted Rose,” a mix of vodka, rose sparkling wine, bitters, and sugar. Along with their Drunk Disney videos, they also feature short videos on how to make each of the drinks. (The “Enchanted Rose” video is here below as well.)

Joining James Janisse and Chelsea Rebecca is Dave Devries, who works on the Drunk Disney videos, and Brock Baker, a popular voice and animation actor. The drinking game”¦ Drink every time they think Gaston would be better at something. “No one can ____ like Gaston.” God, this totally seems like a game I should have been playing for years! The teacher in me starts cracking up right away as they goof on how Belle is the smartest girl in town, but she’s obviously reading fairy tale. “There’s no Common Core,” Chelsea says. We get our first drink as a townswoman buys eggs and James pipes in with “No one buys eggs like Gaston!” It occurs to me, my friends and I did have a version of this, but instead of mixed cocktails we used straight shots of Jager and other awful hooch and usually passed out 15 minutes into the movies.

Drinking and good sarcasm make observations on even the minute details funny. I laughed at the shot to Rube Goldberg after watching Maurice’s log-cutting machine. Maybe it’s the drinking, but the observations get really thought provoking”¦ when Cogsworth’s parts fall out, are those his internal organs??? If so, oh god. My favorite part of the video was the West Wing jokes, and nearly did spit takes at “The Oval Office”¦ Martin Sheen!”

Make sure the kids are not watching, as the drunker they kid the more raunchy the comedy, especially as they get to Gaston and LeFou’s “friendship”. Beast as the most “metal” character in the Disney-verse is really funny especially when they add in Drowning Pool’s Bodies to his rampage in the West Wing (Martin Sheen!).

At the end of the video, each Practical Folks star gives their “Lesson Learned” and you can vote on their next Drunk Disney episode theme. I chose The Sword and the Stone. You can subscribe to the Practical Folks on YouTube where they have hundreds of videos and over 38,000 subscribers. You can also follow them on Twitter @PracticalFolksand on Facebook @practicalfolks. Enjoy the video, drink responsibly, and check out Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast in theaters now.
