This year’s C2E2 (Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo) took place at the end of April, so once again, I headed into Chicago with plans to attend the event. Check out my rundown of the events of the day, as well as a gallery of some of the cosplay.

Due to work, I was only able to get there for the Saturday convention, so I left early from Milwaukee with plans to see the big panel of the day featuring two comic book legends, Stan Lee and Frank Miller. Good news, I got there early enough; the bad news, about 5 or 10 minutes before the panel was supposed to start, one of the projectors hanging from the ceiling started to smoke, so after dealing with moving people and chairs so they could check it out, the panel eventually started, but unfortunately without the big screens behind them being used, hence the pictures from a distance, It was an interesting panel, as they both took many opportunities to make fun of each other, and plus the issues with Stan and not being able to understand anyone using the microphones.

After that, was pretty much me and my friends walking around and trying to check everything out, and of course, take a few pics of the various cosplay we saw. I realized when I got home that I didn’t take nearly as many pics as I had thought, would have tried to go back on Sunday to get more if I had known. But still think I got a few good pics to kind of give you an idea of what was walking around the convention floor. I will try and do things next time to make sure I get more pics from the show.

We did end catching about half of the other Frank Miller panel, talking about the Dark Knight Returns series, we got there a little before the Q and A started, will need to try and check out that series and perhaps even re-read the older series and some of the other great stuff that Frank Miller has put out through the years.

Overall C2E2 might not be as big as the SDCC or NYCC, but I’ve been going to it for the past few years and it seems to be growing each year, and for us in the Midwest, and those not lucky enough to be able to get tickets or the time off from work, a very nice substitute.
