Blood Drive
Season 1 Episode 1: “The F…ing Cop”
Directed by David Straiton
Written by James Roland
Created by James Roland
Starring Alan Ritchson, Christina Ochoa, Thomas Dominique, Marama Corlett, Colin Cunningham, Andrew Hall, Darren Kent
Syfy
Air Date: Wednesday, June 14th, 2017, 10pm Midnight Grindhouse debuted Blood Drive Wednesday night on Syfy. With a story straight out of a cheap schlocky drive thru double feature, and promising splatter effects akin to Peter Jackson’s early filmography, James Roland’s Blood Drive offered something wholly different from what you’re used to in mid-week cable dramas. Cars with engines that devour human beings, heroes that curse, and all sorts of horror-themed “grindhouse” characters… Blood Drive has it all. The previews promised all sorts of “grindhouse” inspired baddies like cults, cannibals, monsters, and all the raunch you can throw in. Plot and acting are not what is important here. This show proudly attempts to be as in your face and graphically visceral as possible. I’m genuinely excited to see not if the show crosses the line, but how far past the line the show can go. Spoilers below.

Pixar’s Cars 3 is a huge change of pace for the franchise. The film sees Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) blindsided when a new generation of faster, more powerful, and younger racers join the racing circuit. Determined to stay in the sport that he loves, Lightning goes through a new-age training regiment with the help of Cruz Ramirez (Cristela Alonzo), an eager young technician who has her own plans for winning. And while they might not agree on which training method works, they discover they need each other to reach their goals more than they realized. We were fortunate enough to attend the press day of Pixar’s latest animated film where the attendees talked about who inspires them, some of their personal struggles, how one person can make the difference, and more. Check out what they had so say here below.

| E3 2017: Trippy Trailer For ‘Transference’ From Elijah Wood’s SpectreVision
Another game announced during E3 2017 this week looks like one that will mess with the ol’ brain a bit. The game is titled Transference, and it comes from Elijah Wood and his production company SpectreVision in collaboration with Ubisoft. It also features Macon Blair, who starred in Blue Ruin and Green Room, and recently directed Wood in the Netflix movie I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore. Transference is a virtual reality experience, but will also be playable on traditional platforms as well. You can read more about it and watch the announcement trailer as well as a second video about the game below.
