E3 week 2018 has officially kicked off, and during Microsoft’s briefing the long-awaited next trailer for the latest game from developer CD Projekt RED, titled Cyberpunk 2077, finally arrived.
The game was first announced six years ago already, but CD Projekt RED had to make a little game titled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt before they could jump into this futuristic new world. But while the Witcher games were based on a book series written by author Andrzej Sapkowski, this new game is based on a pen and paper RPG by Mike Pondsmith titled Cyberpunk 2020.
The new trailer is just a cinematic but introduces us to the that futuristic world they’ve created, which is not exactly the friendliest or safest place for someone to be. Head below now to read more about Cyberpunk 2077 and check out the new trailer.
ABOUT:
Night City, California. Year 2077.
The world is broken. MegaCorps manage every aspect of life from the top floors of their sky-scraping fortresses. Down below, the streets are run by drug pushing gangs, tech hustlers, and illegal braindance slingers. The in-between is where decadence, sex and pop culture mix with violent crime, extreme poverty and the unattainable promise of the American Dream.
You are V, a cyberpunk. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend.
No release date has been set yet for Cyberpunk 2077.
If you missed it I’ve also included the first teaser trailer for the game that was released five years ago now, as well as a video of Mike Pondsmith talking about the cyberpunk world he created and the game based on it.

The teaser shows how the Psycho Squad might acquire a new member.
The Psycho Squad specializes in combating “psychos” — individuals who overuse implants and substances that boost or otherwise alter the human body.
There comes a point when they overdose on these innovations, and their bodies start to rebel against their biological body parts as well as all things organic around them. Simply put, they start killing people, who they now derisively call “meatbags.”
When a psycho goes on the rampage, strange things can happen. There’s carnage, and the psycho might be taken down by regular police, but they’re not always able to get the job done.
When things spin out of control, they call in MAX-TAC (Maximum Force Tactical Division), popularly called the Psycho Squad.

City lights, fog, strangers passing by… Watch Mike Pondsmith the creator of the pen-and-paper RPG Cyberpunk 2020® and learn about his inspirations for creating a dystopian metropolis of Night City.
CD Projekt RED is proud to collaborate with Mike and bring this city to life in its upcoming RPG — Cyberpunk 2077.
The game will be set in the near future in which advanced technologies have become both the salvation and the curse of humanity. A multi-thread, nonlinear story designed for mature players (a CD Projekt RED trademark) will give players a chance to freely roam the open-world and visit places well known from the pen-and-paper RPG “Cyberpunk 2020®”, including a combat zone completely taken over by gangs, the legendary Afterlife joint and the nostalgic Forlorn Hope.
