Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for Overlord from producer J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot Productions.
The movie is a supernatural World War II horror, which for a long while was thought to be a part of the Cloverfield series. Abrams, however, recently said that while it is “batshit crazy,” it’s actually not related to the Cloverfield universe.

Not much information has been shared on Overlord yet. What we do know is that it’s set on the eve of D-Day, and follows U.S. paratroopers who drop into enemy territory and discover that the Nazis are experimenting with supernatural forces to help them win the war.
The story was first conceived by Abrams and Billy Ray (The Hunger Games, Captain Phillips), with the screenplay penned by Ray and Mark L. Smith (The Revenant, Vacancy). The movie was directed by Julius Avery (Son of a Gun).
