Amazon Prime Video

Amazon has announced the full lineup of movies and television shows set to arrive on Prime Video in the new month.

This includes a few highlighted titles coming to the streaming service as well as a little bit about them, followed by the rest of the incoming movies and TV shows and the date they’ll be added to Prime Video. All of the Amazon Arrivals for August 2018 can be found below.

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, perhaps the most anticipated Prime Original series of the year, leads the list of new offerings for August. Our top 10 choices for the month make a diverse group, ranging from art-house cinema to broad comedy to sports to mystery to romance.

1) Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan (Prime Original series) “” August 31

John Krasinski stars as the titular Mr. Ryan, a desk jockey for the CIA who is pressed into service as a field agent. Ryan discovers that he has a knack for action “” which is good, because he encounters plenty of it. (TV-14)

2) Gringo “” August 17

A pharmaceutical executive finds himself trapped in a war between corporate sharks and Mexican drug lords in this action-filled dark comedy from Amazon Studios. David Oyelowo and Charlize Theron star. (R)

3) mother! “” August 26

Few films polarized audiences as much as Darren Aronofsky’s allegorical drama, but the people who “got it” absolutely loved it for its message, acting and visual inventiveness. Jennifer Lawrence stars as the title character, who represents Mother Earth. (R)

4) All or Nothing: Manchester City (Prime Original series) “” August 17

The All or Nothing franchise continues to move beyond American football “” this time to the sport the rest of the world calls football. The Prime Original series goes behind the scenes to document the Manchester City soccer team as it chases the championship of England’s vaunted Premier League. (TV-14)

5) Agatha Christie’s Ordeal by Innocence (Prime Original series) “” August 10

An aristocratic family finds its world upended when the case of its matriarch’s murder “” long thought solved “” is reopened. The three-part Prime Original mini-series, set in 1950s Scotland, stars Bill Nighy. (TV-14)

6) The Stinky & Dirty Show (Prime Original series) “” August 14

Best friends Stinky and Dirty shovel up a ton more fun for the preschool set in their latest batch of episodes. Stinky, a garbage truck, and Dirty, a backhoe, always find it easier to solve problems by working together. (TV-Y)

7) All I See Is You “” August 8

Blake Lively stars as a young blind woman whose sight gradually returns. But her recovery roils her relationship with her husband (Jason Clarke), who is threatened by her growing independence. (R)

8) Watchmen “” August 1

Director Zack Snyder turned the beloved graphic novel into an equally acclaimed film. On an alternate Earth near the end of the Cold War, a group of outlawed superheroes fight to save humanity. (R)

9) Freedom Writers “” August 1

Hilary Swank stars as a high school English teacher who helps a class of at-risk students find their voices through writing. Based on a true story. Freedom Writers also boasts an excellent hip-hop soundtrack. (PG-13)

10) Vegas Vacation “” August 1

The fourth film in the Vacation comedy series finds Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) bringing his family to Sin City, where “” of course “” everything goes hilariously wrong. Wayne Newton guest stars. (PG)
