Just like walking through the stones, fans went back in time by stepping into the Fraser’s Ridge Outlander cabin outside the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in NYC at New York Comic-Con 2018. STARZ brought to life historic details from colonial America by working with local artisans and brands to create an authentic three-sided version of Jamie and Claire Fraser’s cabin from the upcoming season of Outlander (and also as described in Diana Gabaldon‘s novel, Drums of Autumn).
It was truly like stepping into another world away from the hectic hustle and bustle of the Con. Inside the cabin were two apprentice-style workbenches with experts onsite to discuss how the takeaways are made. Fans walked away with a monogrammed luggage tag, an Outlander “Brave New World” tote bag with the season 4 poster image of Claire and Jamie, the latest Entertainment Weekly featuring new images of Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe in character, and a historic fragrance from Caswell-Massey.
Read what STARZ had to say below about the giveaways:
“STARZ partnered with historic fragrance and beauty brand, Caswell-Massey (est. 1752), to curate a collection of the historically accurate products to offer fans as a unique, show-inspired takeaway. Fans will be able to take home one specially co-branded bottle of their choosing. STARZ also partnered with family-owned leather goods brand, Royce, to offer guests a luggage tag – a necessity for time travel – that can be customized with their monogram on-site.”
The details were incredible inside the cabin, from period-appropriate books to elixirs and herbs on Claire’s desk, to a map of Riverrun, and the deed to Fraser’s Ridge signed by Governor Tryon and James Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser himself.
