If you play developer Rare’s online pirate game Sea of Thieves but haven’t been able to convince your friends to buy a copy so you can play with them, now is your chance to try to woo them.

It’s been announced that for the next week, Sea of Thieves players will be able to invite a few of their friends to join them in their pirating adventures. And best of all, it won’t cost them a single coin.

Rare executive producer Joe Neate shared all the details over at the Xbox Wire:

Show your crew the ropes and set sail for adventure! Filled with thrills, spills and the best kind of shenanigans, few things in life are more enjoyable than crewing up with friends in Sea of Thieves. If you’ve never had the pleasure, then this is for you – over the coming week we’re letting every Sea of Thieves player invite three friends to join the fun.

That’s right, starting at 6am PT/2pm GMT on February 6 through February 13, everyone who owns Sea of Thieves or who has played it through a current Xbox Game Pass subscription will be able to invite up to three friends to try the game for free. If you’d like to share the gift of adventure, simply visit SeaofThieves.com/friends-play-free, grab your free codes and send them to your friends. It’s that quick and easy.

And to give you and your pals an awesome adventure to share, track down Duke in the tavern for a time-limited Mercenary Voyage. Offering an essential mix of quintessential Sea of Thieves activities, these special voyages will take you and your friends on an epic quest to find the treasure of the notorious Rum Runner. Crews who complete their voyage will be handsomely rewarded and will also be able to get their hands on special Mercenary cosmetics to act as lasting mementos of their grand adventure.

“Friends Play Free” is the perfect opportunity for existing Sea of Thieves players to take the wheel, set sail for new horizons and show their friends just what it means to Be More Pirate. And for the uninitiated who’d like the chance to experience a slice of the pirate life for themselves, just find a friend who’s already played and ask them nicely to send you one of their codes.

Plus, anyone who redeems a Friends Play Free code will receive a 35% discount when they buy the game digitally on Xbox One or Windows 10 PC between February 6-27.
