2019 Emmy Award Nominations

The Emmy Awards honor the best creative teams and the performers in television. This year saw the end of an era for Game of Thrones, while other miniseries dramas like Chernobyl, The Marvelous Ms. Maisel, and When They See Us clearly exceeded our expectations.

Though the final season of Game of Thrones may have been very polarizing, it didn’t seem to faze the television academy, as it awarded HBO’s highest-rated drama with a record-setting 32 nominations. HBO’s miniseries Chernobyl received 19 nominations, and their comedy Veep snagged two nominations. Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Fleabag also have nominations of their own, with the former having 20, and the latter having four – unfortunately Andrew Scott got snubbed. And Netflix’s When They See Us is the streaming site’s biggest winner. They have 16 nominations.
