Horror fans are in all their glory as Halloween quickly approaches. Those looking to bolster their 31 Days of Halloween horror movie viewing should act now and join AMC’s Shudder, the biggest and best horror streaming service available. And I mean like right now! The service just announced that new members signing up for a year of Shudder can get 31% off annual subscriptions by visiting try.shudder.com/halloween2019. That’s a measly $3.28 per month in the U.S. and Canada, and £/€2.78 in the UK and Ireland. This extremely limited offer expires at midnight Pacific Time on Halloween (Thursday, October 31, 2019).
Shudder also just acquired the exclusive U.S. and Canadian distribution rights for Rob Zombie’s 3 From Hell, the conclusion to his Rejects trilogy. The film will premiere on Shudder in February of 2020, and will join other Zombie films such as Shudder Exclusive 31, House of 1,000 Corpses, and The Devil’s Rejects.
For many, Halloween and October brings out the horror superfan inside you. For us real Horror 365 folk, rejoice, for Shudder has a full plate coming this November. Starting right away this Friday, no one can possibly have the post-Halloween blues as Trick “˜r Treat (2009) debuts from Godzilla: King of the Monsters director Michael Dougherty. A modern-day Halloween classic, November 1st also sees the premieres of Session 9, an underrated horror film set in an abandoned mental hospital, and two of my all time favorites in Wes Craven’s New Nightmare and Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight.
Later in the month on Monday 11/4, Takashi Miike’s sickening classic Audition debuts. Fans of body horror will love Veteran’s Day as we get a double dose. Brian Yuzna’s Bride of Re-Animator and Tetsuo, the wild Japanese body horror art film, will be available. November 18th sees two lesser-known films from classic genre directors, The Cat O’Nine Tails from Dario Argento and Season of the Witch from George A. Romero.
November will see more Shudder Exclusives and originals. RE:BORN premieres Thursday, 11/7 (U.S., Canada, and UK) from Japan and promises tons of action and violence as a former special ops soldier is besieged by a former commander seeking revenge. The film is directed by Yuji Shimomura.
On Thursday 11/14, A Bluebird In My Heart premieres in the U.S. Canada, and UK. The Belgian film tells the story of an ex-inmate locked in his motel, thanks to an ankle bracelet, who seeks revenge after the motel owner’s daughter is assaulted. A Bluebird in my Heart stars Rolland Moller, Lola Le Lann, and Veerle Baetens, and is directed by Jérémie Guez.
Premiering Thursday 11/21 (U.S. & Canada) is Nekrotronic, an outrageous new horror comedy from hell from the creators of Wyrmwood about a sewage worker who gets caught up in the world of necromancers and demons. The film stars Ben O’Toole, Monica Bellucci, Caroline Ford, Tess Haubrich, Epine ‘Bob’ Savea, and David Wenham, and is directed by Kiah Roache-Turner. Check out the trailer just below.
