Before I even begin this review, where the hell is the new Dresden Files book, Jim? Enough with all this waiting crap! Okay, with that out of the way, let me just say how nice it is to have the comics to tide us over until each new book is released. All new, original stories in comic form? Take my money! Wonder why I’m so thrilled about it? Keep on reading and I’ll be happy to inform you why I am so excited for Jim Butcher’s The Dresden Files: Wild Card #4!

BOOM! Studios has announced that we’ll soon see a crossover of two of their ongoing comic book series: Big Trouble In Little China and Escape From New York.

The comics company will release the 6-issue limited crossover miniseries, which will see Little China‘s Jack Burton meets Escape‘s Snake Plissken, this October.

Going into Brik #1, I was just as excited as I usually am. New mini-series from Oni Press? Count me in! But when I got about a third of the way into this first issue, all I felt was disappointment. Not to say the comic is horrible, just not very new or original. Perhaps it is just the timing, but it left me feeling let down.

Color me sad. When I read the blurb for Peanuts: Friends Forever 2016 Special #1, I felt the need to review it. For you see, this appears to be the end of this run of Peanuts comics. It seems that Charles Schulz‘s creations have been a part of my life since birth. And in a way, they have.

My mother’s best friend gave me a crocheted blanket and matching pillows when I was born and to this day, forty-six years later, they reside with me in my home. I’ve included a photo of the pillows below. It was a heartbreaking day when Schultz passed away in 2000, but this also stings a little. Having to say goodbye sucks.
